NUCAofOK at the State Capitol

Advocacy

NUCA of Oklahoma was recently represented at the State Capitol by Sawyer Barnard (Past President) and John Mozingo (Current Vice President), who met with legislators to advocate on behalf of Oklahoma’s underground utility contractors.

As contractors, Sawyer and John voiced strong support for Senate Bill 1949, emphasizing the bill’s importance to the continued strength, stability, and growth of our industry. Their conversations with lawmakers focused on how this legislation directly impacts the contractors who build, maintain, and protect Oklahoma’s essential underground infrastructure.

As always, NUCA of Oklahoma remains committed to ensuring that the voices of utility contractors are heard in policy discussions that affect our workforce, our businesses, and the communities we serve. Active engagement at the Capitol is critical to advancing sound legislation that supports safe, efficient, and sustainable infrastructure development across our state.

Sawyer and John appreciate the opportunity to advocate for our members and will continue to monitor and support legislation that protects and advances the underground utility industry.
